Welcome to the Team Nick Viner
He knows southeast Iowa like the back of his hand as a Lone Tree native, a Muscatine Community College graduate and a former customer service representative at Terra Products Company in Nichols. Now Nick Viner is busy learning about the products the Feed Ingredients Department offers as a customer service specialist.
In his role, he will be entering new orders and backorders for feed routes, calling customers about their orders and assisting on the logistics side by helping route trucks. Help us welcome Nick to the Stutsman team!
Tell us about your family.
My parents are Kay and most people around here know my dad, Andy (who’s been with the feed ingredients team for nearly 43 years). I have two brothers, Thomas and Alex and a half sister Steph.
What do you enjoy doing in your spare time?
I enjoy anything that keeps me physically active, especially sports. My hobbies include weightlifting, playing basketball, golf and disc golfing. I’m also very passionate about the Chicago Bears!
How did you get involved in the agricultural industry?
I did not grow up on a farm, but I grew up raising livestock on my grandpa’s farm. I became interested in agriculture, particularly feed, from raising livestock and completing internships with feed dealers.
What are you most excited for in your new job?
I’m most excited to learn about all of the products we offer and continue to grow my career with Stutsman’s. Also, working with my dad is a pretty cool bonus.
Who has influenced your career the most?
My parents. They were the reason why I decided to pursue a career in agriculture and have always been supportive of me.
If you could snap your fingers and become an expert at something, what would it be?
Golf, so I could get paid to play it!
What is the best advice you have ever been given?
If you put the work in, you’ll be successful.
If you had to be a product you work with, what would it be and why?
3-in-1 Block because I like to think I’m a jack of all trades kind of guy.
What is something random that most people don’t know about you?
I’ve won the Lone Tree Fall Fest egg toss five of the last eight years!
What is your proudest accomplishment?
Graduating from Iowa State with a Bachelor of Science degree in Agricultural Studies.
What is on your bucket list?
Travelling throughout Europe and seeing the Chicago Bears win a Super Bowl.
Which Stutsman Core Value means the most to you and why?
Value Collaboration. My job requires me to actively communicate with the customer service team. Being able to communicate effectively is critical for teamwork.
