Having grown up on a livestock farm outside of West Branch and being an active 4-H and FFA member, Jill Hamer is familiar with agriculture. After earning her associate degree from Kirkwood Community College in agricultural business, she continued to gain experience in the industry from serving as a soybean research specialist to customer service roles. This summer is no exception as we welcome five students who will have the opportunity to apply their classroom learning in real-life situations. The hustle and bustle that this time of year brings can be pretty hectic yet exciting. It also puts efficiency at the forefront, not just for our team but our customers as well. When our April STRIVEr was delivering product to a customer, he recognized an opportunity to save our customer time. Jim Walters, delivery driver, valued collaboration which earned him this month’s STRIVEr honor.
Growing up, Matt Eickert spent a lot of time helping his grandpa with his livestock and row crop operation. You could say that’s where his passion for agriculture first started. He continued his involvement in the industry in high school and college. During his senior year of high school, he completed a work study program with a seed dealer near his hometown of Bryant. Matt attended Kirkwood Community College then Iowa State University where he earned his degree in agricultural studies in May 2021. More
Our March STRIVErs had the company’s well-being in mind when they took the initiative to unload a damaged trailer, even if it meant staying late. Knowing the weather forecast, feed warehouse crew member, Lane Jensen and warehouse supervisor, Danny Sutton assessed the situation and took the lead to prevent feed products from potentially getting wet.
