March 2024 STRIVEr: Mike Bowlin
Our March STRIVEr jumped into action when he noticed smoke in the warehouse. Without his quick thinking, what ended up being a fire contained in a dumpster could have been a lot worse. Read the nomination below to learn more about how Mike Bowlin took the lead to prevent a bigger accident.
Nomination
On March 28th, just after 5:00 a.m., Mike Bowlin showed up in Hills to start his day. Upon walking into the warehouse to get his paperwork, Mike noticed the smell of smoke coming from the south end of the warehouse. Mike instantly went to do some investigating before he realized this was bigger than he could manage himself. He quickly called 911. Thankfully the fire was contained to a steel dumpster, but it was Mike’s take-the-lead approach that stopped this small incident from becoming something much bigger. Mike’s genuine care for others, his equipment and our facility have instilled authenticity with many people within our organization. Mike continues to set the bar higher for others around him, as he has for many years! Thank you to Mike Bowlin and the Hills Fire Department for their efforts in putting a quick stop to this incident.
