Neighbors helping neighbors. It is an age-old concept that has carried many individuals and families through difficult circumstances. Nearly two decades ago, this same concept became the basis for a nonprofit organization born at 40,000 feet called Farm Rescue.
From wowing a customer with outstanding communication and service to canceling a day off to make sure freight got updated and booked, our May STRIVEr took the lead and adapted his schedule to make sure logistics customers were taken care of. Summer has a way of bringing a much needed refresh: a new crop planted, empty manure pits, and for us, a new group of college students joining our team. The 2023 intern class will be found serving our agronomy customers through scouting-based services. With their fresh ideas and passion for the agriculture industry, we’re excited to have this young talent on our team.
It’s always a joy to hear about a customer’s positive experience. When Ryan McCarty and Brittanie Oolman learned about an issue with a wholesale hose and valve order, they didn’t hesitate to take the lead and correct the issue. Here’s the customer feedback and the nomination that earned Ryan and Brittanie the April STRIVEr honors.
When a customer was on the verge of not being able to make feed due to a shortage of salt, they called our feed team for an emergency load. Despite the challenge of winter weather, our March STRIVEr stepped up to the challenge. Read the full nomination that earned dedicated delivery driver Mike Bowlin the March honor.
One of the advantages that come with our diverse fleet of vehicles is our in-house maintenance. Ask any truck driver around here and they’ll rant and rave about our service technicians in the truck shop. Our February STRIVEr is no stranger to service calls but more importantly, Garrett Kline’s willingness to get a vehicle back on the road is second to none. When a truck needed to be repaired on a Sunday to get a driver out, Garrett quickly responded and is taking the STRIVEr honor for exceeding expectations.

Our January STRIVEr caught the attention of a customer with his impressive trailer backing skills. Not only that but the snow and ice couldn’t keep Derek Rich, a dedicated delivery driver for our feed ingredients division, from doing a good job. When we define the Stutsman difference it always comes back to the experience our employees create by going above and beyond, and the core values that drive how we serve customers, the community and fellow employees. Each month we celebrate those employees who fully embrace these Stutsman core values through the STRIVEr program. These monthly STRIVEr winners then become finalists for the STRIVEr of the Year and are voted upon by fellow employees at the completion of our fiscal year. Our 2022 STRIVEr of the Year went the extra mile and set the bar higher to help a stranded driver. We are excited to announce Brian Weeber, truck shop foreman, as the 2022 STRIVEr of the Year.
