What is your background?
I am a high school graduate from Brashear, MO. After high school I was in the Marine Corp for 4 years in the 1st Battalion 7th Marines Weapons Company 81mm Mortars. After that, I came back to the family farm. I worked for a local Veterinarian for 7 years and then at the area college for 3 years. I then started my own feed business, which is how I was introduced to Stutsmans.
What do you enjoy doing in your spare time?
I enjoy spending time with my grandchildren and working on my cattle farm.
What do you consider to be the most rewarding part of your job?
Helping a customer! I love helping them solve a problem they’re having or helping them be successful with a new product they’ve taken on in their business.
What is something random most people don’t know about you?
I am a twin.
If you had to eat the same food for the rest of your life what would it be?
Steak!
What’s on your bucket list?
I would like to travel to Israel to stand where Jesus did and see the sights where he spent his time on Earth.
What has been the biggest change in the industry during your tenure here?
Technology! From having basically a computer in your pocket to keep in touch with the office and customers, to the programs that are available now to balance a feed ration, and the tools to run an entire feed mill; it’s all amazing.
If you had to be a product you work with, what would it be and why?
Amaferm. It is a product that helps to improve the life of all livestock, and what better way to spend your life than helping others!?
What is your favorite thing about the ag industry?
The people. The people in the ag world are the backbone of this country. They work hard and try to make life better for everyone by growing the best products possible with the best practices available.
What Stutsman Core Value means the most to you? Why?
They are all important, but to me the one that starts it all is Instill Authenticity. You can’t be fake in your life as people will see through it. You should love what you do or find what you love and go do that.
