Spread Holiday Cheer
The holidays are always a special time of year; feelings of thanks and generosity seem to become more evident than they are the rest of the year. During the holiday season, it has become a tradition to extend our kindness to the community through a food/donation drive for the Crisis Center of Johnson County. According to the 2015 United States Census, 15.9% of Johnson County’s population lives below the poverty line. That’s higher than the national average! Whether it’s putting food on the table, providing emotional support over the phone, or giving financial assistance to keep the heat on, the Crisis Center of Johnson County is truly a great asset to our community.
Help us spread holiday cheer (pun intended) by filling our manure spreader in the retail center with non-perishable food items and financial donations through December 22nd.
The top ten needed donations are:
- Financial Donations
- Toilet Paper
- Peanut Butter and Jelly
- Canned Fruit and 100% Fruit Juice
- Pasta and Rice
- Canned Vegetables
- Hearty Soups and Stews
- Baby Diapers (all sizes)
- Baby Formula and Food
- Laundry Detergent
