The Season of Giving
As cheesy and cliche as it sounds, we truly are blessed with employees with hearts of gold. During this holiday season, our employees organized and donated to two different causes; the Johnson County Crisis Center and the University of Iowa Children’s Hospital.
For the past few years, we have collected donations over the holidays for the Johnson County Crisis Center. This year our employees put together a total of 247 pounds of toiletry items, and non-perishable food goods. It really is rewarding to see our employees give back to those in need in our community.
The newest holiday fundraiser, for only the second year, was for the kids who celebrated Christmas in the University of Iowa Children’s Hospital. Wessel Geldenhuys, custom applicator, started the fundraiser in 2015 with the goal of helping 4 kids specifically in the hospital’s cancer unit. After a successful outcome in 2015, Wes came back this year and expanded his goal to $1,000 in hopes to get something for all the children staying in the hospital over the holidays. Due to Wes’s determination and our generous employees, the goal was exceeded by $800! The money went towards an assortment of toys, blankets, movies and other goodies!
Kathy Calvin once said, Giving is not just about making a donation. It is about making a difference.
We couldn’t agree more. We are honored to have employees dedicated to making a difference in not only our company but our community. A big thank you goes out to all those who coordinated and donated to these causes!
