Miles Above the Rest
When it comes to our transportation and feed ingredients drivers, there’s no doubt that they exceed expectations and set the bar higher every day. Since the start of the million mile club in 2021, we’ve had 20 drivers reach the one-million-mile mark, five drivers hit two million miles, and one road warrior surpass three million miles.
Congratulations to this year’s million-mile drivers for putting the mile in milestone!
Two Million Miles
Perry Sojka | Dedicated Delivery Driver | Since 2005
Perry has been a driver we can count on to get the job done in a timely fashion for 19 years. As a feed ingredients dedicated driver who often travels to the same places, he enjoys getting to meet and build relationships with the customers he delivers to. When he’s not making sure our customers are getting the feed ingredients and products they need, Perry enjoys golfing, fishing, playing cards and gardening. For Perry, hitting two million miles is a symbol of personal endurance and an accomplishment “because it takes a long time to get there. It’s a lot of miles.”
Favorite Place to Visit: Anywhere south or Poteau, OK.
Favorite States to travel to/through: Kansas, Missouri and Oklahoma.
Go-To Truck Stop: Love’s or QuikTrip.
Favorite Driving Snack: Gardetto’s and Goldfish.
One Million Miles
Duane Burden | Dedicated Delivery Driver | Since 2014
For the past 10 years, Duane has been very reliable, does everything he’s asked to do, and has been very pleasant to work with. There’s no other way to put it — he’s simply one of the best. As a member of the feed ingredients dedicated delivery team, Duane likes being able to have a 500-mile travel radius so he has more nights at home. When he’s not behind the wheel, Duane spends his time driving around his acreage on the tractor, hunting, looking for arrowheads and hanging out with his grandkids.
Favorite Place to Visit: Rutledge, MO (to the swap meet held there).
Favorite States to travel to/through: Kansas and Nebraska.
Go-To Truck Stop: Pilot or places that are quieter.
Favorite Driving Snack: Mixed Nuts and Mountain Dew.
Personal Effects: Pictures of the grandkids on the farm.
What does this award mean to you: It means quite a bit because this is the only place I’ve been able to like enough to work that many miles. I really like working for Stutsmans. They’re probably one of the best family run businesses that I’ve ever worked with, and I’ve worked with three other family business trucking companies.
Randy Dreeszen | Over-The-Road Driver | Since 2016
This road warrior is known for being very dependable, always delivering on time and consistently maintaining one of the best MPG in the fleet. Randy can be found fishing with his son and grandson or tinkering in the garage when he’s home. While it’s no surprise to us that this go-getter is racking up the miles, Randy says a million miles snuck up on him. These past eight years, he has enjoyed working for a smaller company and likes our lanes because he says they are better for drivers.
Favorite Places to Travel to/through: Arizona and Southern California during January, and the Pacific Northwest during the summer.
Go-To Truck Stop: Mom-and-pop truck stops because they are less congested and have more parking area.
Favorite Driving Snack: Homemade egg McMuffin and a cup of coffee in the morning.
Personal Effects: Grill, flat screen TV and phone screen magnifier.
