Making the Cut with Schulte
If your to-do list often includes mowing rough areas, then you’ve learned that not just any rotary cutter will do. For years, Schulte has been our rotary cutter of choice from the standpoint of quality and overall durability. Perhaps the greatest testament to this trait is thanks to the DOT; there’s a reason you’ll see that Schulte green conquering the roadside ditches each summer. This heavy-duty performance can be confirmed by Steve Greiner of Washington, IA, who recently joined the Schulte mower club.
In the summer of 2020, Greiner was needing to mow around 200 acres of CRP ground and decided his smaller 7-foot mower wouldn’t make the cut (pun intended). Since the CRP ground is rugged and had small volunteer trees, deer antlers, and other obstructions, Greiner was in the market for a large, heavy-duty mower. Al Kessler, VP of precision ag, recommended the FX-1800 Rotary Cutter. Greiner made his purchase in July and has thoroughly enjoyed his mower.
“I’ve definitely been pleased with my Schulte mower. I was able to get all my CRP ground mowed without a single breakdown or problem,” said Greiner. “My favorite feature is the ease of service; it’s super-duper easy to grease, check the gearboxes, etc. Al Kessler and the Stutsman team were great to work with and made the purchase and set up process simple.”
Greiner plans to mow the CRP ground with his Schulte FX-1800 a few more times in the upcoming years. “I may shred some cornstalks with it this fall, the mower is sure capable of it!” Greiner said.
Our most popular models are the FX-1800 and XH-1500. The FX-1800 is fitting for a little bit of everything: CRP, waterways, ditches, weedy pastures, you name it. The XH-1500 is a more industrial mower that is also great for on-farm use.
We typically carry inventory on the FX-1800 and XH-1500 models, but there are a wide variety of mowers in sizes 7’ to 42’ that we can custom order to best fit your mowing needs.
If a heavy duty, durable rotary cutter has been on your radar, we’d encourage you to put the Schulte line on your short list to check-out. Check out our current Schulte offerings here.
