Welcome to the Team Justin Hunter
Please help us in welcoming Justin Hunter to the Stutsman team. As a developmental sales agronomist, Justin has been working alongside current agronomists to learn about the company and customer base since January 2021.
Justin graduated in May 2020 from Iowa State University with an agronomy degree. With an internship as a crop scout for Servitech and with Monsanto (now Bayer Crop Science) in parent seed research, Justin says he’s most familiar with the seed side of agronomy. He’s looking forward to learning about crop protectants and nutrients to better serve customers for success.
What inspired you to choose a career in agronomy?
I’ve always been interested in crops but my first agriculture class at Kirkwood Community College was in agronomy and I fell in love with it.
What do you enjoy doing in your spare time?
I have two sisters and a brother so I like spending time with my family. I also like woodworking and fishing if I get the chance.
What is your proudest accomplishment?
Probably my agronomy degree from Iowa State University as it’s the foundation for working with farmers and has helped developed my skillset.
What inspires you?
Agriculture is more of a lifestyle that is inspiring. I have a passion for helping people in agriculture and getting to experience the ag industry every day.
What is the best advice you have ever been given?
My high school football coach always told us, ‘don’t worry about the things you can’t control.’ I never thought much of it at the time, but it has more meaning now. It’s important to focus on things you can control to make the situation better.
What is your favorite season to work in?
Fall – it’s harvest time!
What is something random that most people do not know about you?
I used to kind of play the guitar.
What is on your bucket list?
Traveling to and camping in Montana or Wyoming.
Who has influenced your career the most?
My dad because we talk about farming together. Him and my grandpa are the reason I wanted to pursue a career in agriculture.
Which Stutsman Core Value means the most to you?
Instill Authenticity. It’s really important in business and in life to be trustworthy and have meaning in your words. If you trust one another, you can build strong relationships. That’s how I was raised.
