Ryan Windt is a new face at Stutsman Logistics! This new logistics specialist is an Illinois native and huge sports fan. Let’s give Ryan a warm welcome.
What is your background?
I grew up in Oak Lawn, IL and majored in sport management at University of Wisconsin-Parkside. After graduating, I coached baseball at Horlick High School in Racine, WI and at my alma mater. I joined the logistics world when I went to work for YRC in Des Moines, IA. I also worked at WorldWide Logistics and CRST before coming to Stutsman Logistics. I live in Cedar Rapids with my girlfriend Emily and dog Zoey.
What do you enjoy doing in your spare time?
During my spare time, I like to watch the Chicago White Sox and the Iowa State Cyclones. I also love hanging out with my dog Zoey and playing bags in the backyard.
What is your proudest accomplishment?
I am very proud of the purchase of my first house.
Who has influenced your career the most? Why?
My father has influenced my career the most. He worked at YRC and growing up I went to work with him all the time. He assisted with me getting into the logistics industry at YRC as well.
What is the best advice you have ever been given?
“Whether you think you can or you can’t, you’re right.”
What is your favorite season?
My favorite season is Spring because it’s the start of baseball season and warmer weather.
What is something random that most people do not know about you?
Some players from my high school and collegiate coaching days now play in the MLB!
What is at the top of your bucket list?
I would love to visit all 30 MLB Stadiums as well as all the BIG 12 football stadiums.
Have you had any exciting life events recently?
I turned 30 years old on March 29th.
Which Stutsman Core Value means the most to you and why?
Value collaboration. This means the most to me as I have worked at past companies that do not use this model. There was more of an individual process and it caused negativity in the workplace. If communication is open, it makes it much easier to succeed and reach our goals.
