Welcome to the Team: Nathan Parchert
With his agricultural business degree from Iowa State University in hand, Nathan Parchert headed back east but stopped just short of Illinois City, Illinois (his hometown) to join our feed ingredients customer service team in Hills.
Nathan is familiar with Stutsman’s. He served as a crop scout intern in 2019. But his interest in animal nutrition and feed prevailed. “I am excited to learn about the feed products that Stutsman’s offers and continue building my network in the agricultural industry,” said Nathan.
In Nathan’s customer service role, he will enter new feed orders, communicate with customers, help with logistics and building truck loads. Help us welcome Nathan to the team!
How did you get involved in the agricultural industry?
I grew up working on our family farm and helping with our show pig operation. I worked in a feed store when I was younger and continued to further my passion in the agricultural industry with a list of diverse internships in crop scouting, meat sales, and most recently, commodity merchandising.
Who has influenced your career the most?
My parents, Tom and Carol Parchert. They have given me opportunities to develop an appreciation for agriculture and continuously support my decisions in doing so.
What do you enjoy doing in your spare time?
During my spare time I enjoy spending time with family, hunting, helping with projects on our family farm and watching football. On the weekends, I like smoking/grilling meat whenever I get the chance.
If you could snap your fingers and become an expert at something, what would it be?
Genetics and feed science so I can further improve my family’s livestock and help customers do the same.
What is the best advice you have ever been given?
Take the time to do things right the first time.
What is your favorite season to work in?
Definitely fall. Two things I really enjoy are harvest and watching football.
What is something random that most people don’t know about you?
I grew up being a Hawkeye fan before going to college in Ames.
What is your proudest accomplishment?
Recently graduating from Iowa State! #RollClones
What is on your bucket list?
One thing I would love to do is go wild boar hunting down South someday.
Which Stutsman Core Value means the most to you?
Value collaboration means the most to me as it is important that I work well together with my team to ensure that our customers receive their orders efficiently and error free.
