Welcome to the Team Kylee Sutton
In late September, we welcomed Illinois-native Kylee Sutton to the Stutsman team. Serving as an accounts receivable-accounts payable clerk, she takes care of accounts payable for the agronomy, field equipment, grain handling, hose/valve, manure, and precision agriculture departments. Kylee’s positive attitude and attention to detail are two qualities that help her serve for success.
What is your background?
I was born and raised in Peoria, IL. I attended Western Illinois University in Macomb, IL and graduated with a Bachelor of Business in Accountancy in 2017. I was an accountant for Hawkeye Hotels in Coralville before joining the Stutsman team where my husband also works in the feed warehouse.
What inspired you to choose a career in accounting?
Math was the only subject in school that I was really good at besides sports and extracurricular activities. I started out as an engineering major in college, but then I wanted to do something more geared towards business. Once I took a 100-level accounting course, I fell in love!
What do you enjoy doing in your spare time?
I enjoy gardening – currently just vegetables but in the future, I would like to incorporate fruit trees and bushes. I also enjoy playing sports in my free time.
Tell us about your family.
I am married to Danny Sutton, who also works for Stutsman in the feed warehouse. He originally told me about another position with Stutsman’s but my experience fit better for the AR/AP Clerk position.
What do you consider to be the most rewarding part of your job?
The most rewarding part of my job is making customers happy and to see them smile.
What is your favorite season to work in? Why?
Summer, because I have the most energy when the sun is shining!
What is your proudest accomplishment?
Being the first person in my family to graduate from a four-year university.
Who has influenced your career the most? Why?
My father because he has always pushed me to be better and never quit anything.
If you could snap your fingers and become an expert at something, what would it be?
The stock market.
If you had to be a product that you work with, what would it be and why?
A calculator because math is my favorite subject and it is used in everything!
What is the best advice you have ever been given?
Do or do not, there is no try. -Yoda
What is something random that most people do not know about you?
I used to be a powerlifter and won a World Championship in Atlanta in 2011.
What is on your bucket list?
Visiting Italy.
Which Stutsman Core Value means the most to you?
Radiate Enthusiasm means the most to me because it is important to keep a positive attitude. Being positive and smiling can brighten another person’s day and we never know what people are going through at home, whether it be a customer or a coworker. Smiling is contagious!
