Help us welcome Andy Berry to Stutsman Logistics! Andy started in June 2020 as director of sales; he is responsible for direct sales, sales management, customer maintenance, sales budgets, and sales process management. Learn more about him below!
Andy is from Toledo, OH, and is a massive Ohio State Buckeyes fan. He attended Ball State University in Muncie, IN, where he earned his B.S. degree in Economics and served as a captain on the football team. Andy is a Certified Transportation Professional (CTP) from the National Private Truck Council (NPTC), making him 1 of the 1500 people nationwide with this distinction. With this and his 25 years of transportation management, we are excited about the experience Andy brings to the table.
What do you enjoy doing in your spare time?
I am a doting father of two boys, ages 10 and 14. I immerse myself in their growth and development. From camping and educational trips to their physical development and sports involvement, I take the time to be a quality father figure for them.
What are you most excited about in your new job?
I am truly excited to be a part of an experienced team with a great culture. With such a strong core, the projection for quality growth should be fantastic!
What is your proudest accomplishment?
Personally, my proudest accomplishment is having two quality young men as sons. Professionally, I’m proud to have owned and successfully ran a quality equipment finance company.
Who has influenced your career the most? Why?
I must say that I have always sought the advice of quality council throughout my career. That includes my bosses, peers, and subordinates, but the honest answer to this question is that we all influence the trajectory of our career more than any outside stimulus.
If you could snap your fingers and become an expert at something, what would it be?
Quantum physics; I have always wanted to be as smart as Einstein, and I think the Big Bang Theory television show is hilarious.
What is the best advice you have ever been given?
If you believe you will achieve.
What is something random that most people do not know about you?
I played on the tennis team for a year in high school.
What is on your bucket list?
Travel to Europe, Southeast Asia, Africa and South America.
Which Stutsman Core Value means the most to you and why?
They are all important, but if I had to pick one that means a tremendous amount to me it is instill authenticity. Too often in the transportation industry, I see character that is less than authentic.
