The hustle and bustle that this time of year brings can be pretty hectic yet exciting. It also puts efficiency at the forefront, not just for our team but our customers as well. When our April STRIVEr was delivering product to a customer, he recognized an opportunity to save our customer time. Jim Walters, delivery driver, valued collaboration which earned him this month’s STRIVEr honor.
Our March STRIVErs had the company’s well-being in mind when they took the initiative to unload a damaged trailer, even if it meant staying late. Knowing the weather forecast, feed warehouse crew member, Lane Jensen and warehouse supervisor, Danny Sutton assessed the situation and took the lead to prevent feed products from potentially getting wet. Our February STRIVEr’s quick trip to Cedar Rapids on a Friday evening ensured our customer was able to fulfill an order on a deadline. Brittanie Oolman, wholesale hose and valve customer service, exemplified what it means to serve our customers for success by exceeding expectations which earned her the February STRIVEr honor. Going the extra mile, or a few extra miles to help a stranded driver is how Brian Weeber earned the January STRIVEr award. He not only took the lead to get the truck towed but also exceeded expectations by going to get the driver late one night to get him back home and out of the freezing cold. When we define the Stutsman difference it always comes back to the experience our employees create by going above and beyond, and the core values that drive how we serve customers, the community and fellow employees. Each month we celebrate those employees who fully embrace these Stutsman core values through the STRIVEr program. These monthly STRIVEr winners then become finalists for the STRIVEr of the Year and are voted upon by fellow employees at the completion of our fiscal year. Our 2021 STRIVEr of the Year took the lead to prevent a potentially catastrophic situation.
