Revontek Seed Treatment
By: Dillon Blythe, Agronomist
It’s hard to believe but it has already been one year since we have added Mycogen seed to our hybrid and variety line-up! Mycogen features many attributes that can help our growers achieve high yields with consistent, proven results. One of the newest corn seed treatments to our 2018 offering is Mycogen’s Revontek. This treatment option is available on any of our leading grain and silage-specific hybrids. Revontek boasts strong early season disease control and helps to improve early plant vigor; which ties directly into stand count and overall yield.
Every year brings a different set of challenges to planting, so it’s important to be prepared. Revontek has six modes of action in disease protection with elevated Pythium control. This allows you to capitalize on a more rapid emergence by enhancing early root development and the capability to access nutrients faster allowing for early planting dates. This also allows for improved stress tolerance with not only weather factors but insect pressure as well; specifically, wireworms, seed corn maggot, and white grub. All in all, Revontek provides a broad spectrum of residual control.
Takeaway: this new treatment allows for more control in seedling development, improved early season vigor and stands giving growers a good opportunity to have consistent yields in the fall.
