Meet our 2022 logistics interns
This summer we have had the privilege to host two college students as logistics interns. Since early June, Jetta Golembiewski and TJ Fleita have been learning the various parts of logistics from working with carriers to learning about account management.
Originally from Niles, IL, TJ will return to Mount Mercy this fall to finish up his degree in management while Jetta, the Genoa, IL native, will resume classes at the University of Iowa. She will earn her degree in business analytics and information systems next spring while minoring in sports and recreation management.
What clubs and organizations are you involved in on campus?
Jetta: I’m in the Women in Business student organization at the University of Iowa.
TJ: I am on the baseball team for Mount Mercy.
What are your hobbies?
Jetta: Music, hiking, gardening and dance.
TJ: I enjoy golfing.
What inspired you to pursue a degree in logistics and supply chain management?
Jetta: I was interested in all the different tasks that logistics individuals face. I like working with numbers and details and all the different things that are involved within supply chain management.
TJ: I met some of the employees at a job fair at my school.
What made Stutsman Logistics, Inc. stand out to you and why?
Jetta: The thing that made Stutsman Logistics stand out to me was their values. I really love what STRIVE stands for and everything this company does in order to make employees and customers feel valued.
TJ: I really liked the employees that I met and they seemed like people I would want to work for.
What is the best advice you have ever been given?
Jetta: The best advice I have ever been given is to never pass up an opportunity. I always try to give something a try because you never know what you could like.
TJ: There are no such things as a bad experience, as long as there are lessons that can be learned.
If you could visit anywhere in the world, where would you go?
Jetta: If I could visit anywhere in the world, I would visit Thailand.
TJ: Cuba because my family comes from there so I would love to experience it for myself.
What would you like to do when you graduate?
Jetta: When I graduate, I would like to work full time for a company and also be able to travel a little.
TJ: I still do not have any plans but hope to find a job where I am excited to come to work every day.
What Stutsman Core Value means the most to you and why?
Jetta: The core value that means the most to me is value collaboration. I feel this is important because collaborating with others is essential within any organization. Being able to talk to others about ideas and issues will not only help the team work more efficiently but also make members feel respected and comfortable.
TJ: Set the bar higher because in any situation I get thrown into I would like to leave it in a better spot than I found it in.
