Meet Amber Milder; Precision Ag Specialist
Amber Milder, daughter of Gary and Nancy Milder, joined the Agronomy division full-time the first of the year as a Precision Ag Specialist. Although Amber is not a new face to the Stutsman team (she has interned for us the past two years), we’d like to formally introduce her to you with a Q&A session!
Q: What is your background?
I grew up on a row crop and cattle operation (100 head) Northwest of Downey, Iowa. I am the 4th generation of our farm; my Great Grandpa purchased it March of 1912. A few of my favorite things to do growing up was showing cattle in 4-H, and being my Dad’s right-hand man.
Q: Where did you go to college?
I am a proud Iowa State alumnus; I graduated in 2015 with a BS degree in Agriculture Studies with minors in Agronomy and Animal Science.
Q: What are you responsibilities at Eldon C. Stutsman, Inc?
My number one responsibility is to maximize the effectiveness of our customer’s inputs through data analysis and planting & nutrient recommendations. I also oversee the crop scouting program and help out with sprayer dispatch.
Q: What do you do when you’re not at work?
I love spending time outdoors, helping my Dad on the farm, and hanging out with family and friends! I also have a great appreciation for antique tractors; I have no bias on color. I enjoy taking my 1958 John Deere 820 Diesel through parades. One day I’d like to own a 1206 International or really any International with a turbo in it!
Q: What is your favorite thing about the agriculture industry?
It’s kind of hard for me to narrow this list down but I really love cattle, especially when it’s calving time. Although, I really appreciate the technology advancements on equipment.
Q: What item(s) that you work with best represent you?
Precision technology equipment. I’d choose precision equipment because it represents my passion for wanting to help our customers maximize their operation’s success through technology. Just as they would check their monitors for information, our customers can use the data I analyze as a powerful tool.
We are certainly excited to have Amber on board!
