Lackender by ECS: American Made Skid Steer Attachments
A famous proverb states, “necessity is the mother of inventions”. For Randy Lackender, this proverb could be edited to state: frustration is the mother of inventions. With scrap steel, some ingenuity, and a desire to not dig another hole by hand while his skid loader idly sat by, Randy built his first backhoe attachment. After seeing how well the prototype worked, Randy went on to form Lackender, Inc and diversified his business with a wide array of skid loader attachments to make operators’ lives easier.
After 35 years of serving skid loader enthusiasts, Randy decided to sell Lackender, Inc to Stutsmans.
“We know Stutsmans will continue to give the same level of personal service along with the same quality, top-notch attachments as before. We are thankful for our loyal customers and the relationships that have been created,” said Randy.
You’ve heard us talk about our thought process when we bring new equipment lines on: does it make our customers’ lives easier and is it a durable, quality product? When we were approached by Randy to continue his skid steer attachments, it was a confident yes to both questions. We are excited to continue what Randy has worked so hard to build, as well as a product line that saves backs, improves safety, and frankly, makes checking off that to-do list a little more fun from the comfort of your cab.
Beyond being located just a few miles apart, the roots of the relationship go back over 100 years to Eldon Stutsman’s mother, Nettie Niffenegger Stutsman and Randy Lackender’s grandmother, Iva Niffenegger Lackender. It’s funny how history unfolds…if only the sisters would know that their future descendants would have a great customer-business relationship for years but one day, a successful Lackender business would be continued by Stutsmans.
