Introducing Schulte XH1500 Series 5
If you consider yourself a mowing enthusiast, spend a good chunk of time running a batwing, or you aren’t new to Stutsman’s, odds are you’re already familiar with our Schulte brand of rotary cutters. Although they offer a wide range of models, our customer favorites typically come down to the FX1800 and the XH1500. Of the two, the XH1500 Series 4 recently received some improvements. The latest addition to their industrial-grade line, XH1500 Series 5, takes the term ‘heavy duty’ to a whole ‘nother level. Don’t let the word industrial intimidate you; a lot of customers find them valuable for on-farm use.
While maintaining some of the favorite features of the Series 4 (tandem walking axles, heavy-duty driveline and deck protection rings), the redesigned gearboxes, improved blade tip speeds and additional deck depth allow up to 50% faster working speeds, condition dependent of course.
One of the handier add-ons (available only on the XH line) is the FLX-1510 Flex Arm. Designed with serious ditch mowers in mind, the Flex Arm allows the operator to stay on the road while the mower cuts the slope. The extendable arm allows for offsets of 70” to the left and 52” to the right for a total of 121”. Beyond the reduction in rollover risk and improved visibility (obstacles can be better seen before hitting the cutter), keeping the tractor on the road makes it possible to mow in wetter conditions. The hitch tongue and strut attachment system doesn’t sacrifice maneuverability either; this setup allows the arm and batwing to move as one unit.
Regardless if you are a “light” batwing user or consider yourself a mean, mowing machine worthy of industrial-built equipment, the overall durability and quality of the Schulte brand does not disappoint.
