Introducing N-Zone
By: Dillon Blythe, Precision Ag Specialist
We are firm believers in stabilizing nitrogen to maximize its effectiveness. With that said, we are excited to announce our new nitrogen management aid; N-Zone. This product can be used in anhydrous ammonia, UAN, and liquid manure. The N-Zone formulation focuses on using the soil’s cation exchange capacity (CEC) to bond the positive cations of N-Zone GL to the negative anions of soil and nitrogen. When N-Zone’s polymers and calcium bond with nitrogen, microbial activity increases and gives you a 60 to 90-day residual window regardless of application timing. Essentially N-Zone is converting ammonium to yield.
Furthermore, when compared to other nitrogen stabilizers, N-Zone GL is less corrosive on equipment. This results in limited equipment downtime, fewer maintenance hours and reduced manpower. More importantly, it’s harmless to human skin while being odorless for safety purposes. Altogether, N-Zone is a safe product to use for everyone involved while being agronomically sound and generating a return on investment.
Our recommended rate of application is 18 ounces per acre, for any application between 100-175 units and 24 ounces per acre is our recommended rate for any application over 175 units. In my mind, the most striking feature is its focus on enhancing microbial health to give corn roots the chance to utilize as much nitrogen as possible. ROI can be found in yields which can be measured periodically and evaluated easily through data analysis. N-zone gives us the power to improve our nitrogen to yield ratio. Couple this technology with the right corn hybrids and you have the opportunity to crank out-of-the-park corn yields!
