Gearboxes, PTO Shafts, Hydraulic components, Oh My!
A horror story from Wizard of Oz? Nope, just the current supply chain situation.
Although typically there isn’t anything to worry about when it comes to parts like gearboxes, PTO shafts and hydraulic components, the story might be a little different for the upcoming manure application seasons.
We certainly don’t want to frighten anyone or be bearers of bad news, but more so want to be completely transparent with what we’re dealing with from suppliers. Lead times on gearboxes, PTO shafts, hydraulic components, and other cast parts are currently sitting at a year out.
Telling you to be extra cautious this upcoming season may seem a little ridiculous. Obviously, no one is ever aiming to break down, but given the twisted supply chain issues, we can’t stress enough that being extra careful this upcoming year will be crucial. These extended lead times apply to new equipment as well, so plan accordingly.
We have always prided ourselves on keeping parts in stock so they are ready to go when you need them the most. While we are doing everything in our power to keep components on hand, sometimes that is still not enough. We have already run into unforeseen extended lead times on items that seemed to be pretty accessible; what has been fine the last six months can all of a sudden cause unexpected grief. We’re assuming this will hit even harder once we get into the heat of the season.
Moral of the story? Preventative care is more important now than ever.

» Don’t wait until the last minute to get spare parts for fall
