What is your background?
I grew up in Hills, Iowa. I attended Black Hawk East Community College and Iowa State University.
What do you enjoy doing in your spare time?
In my spare time, I like going to livestock shows, golfing and spending time with family and friends.
What do you consider to be the most rewarding part of your job?
My job is to help customers with whatever they need, so it’s very rewarding whenever I can help get them out of a pickle.
If you had to eat the same food for the rest of your life what would it be?
I wouldn’t be mad if I had to eat steak and peach cobbler for the rest of my life.
If you were stuck on an island, what 3 items would you bring?
Cold drinks, beach chair, and my fiancée. (sounds like a vacation to me!)
What is on your bucket list?
I want to judge livestock internationally. It would be awesome to travel to a different country, experience their culture, and evaluate their cattle.
What is your favorite thing about the agriculture industry?
The fact that everyone you deal with has extremely similar interests and a common goal. It makes working every day exciting and enjoyable.
If you had to be a product you work with what would it be and why?
I doubt it would be too exciting being a bag of feed but I would pick salt. Everyone needs it and it is one of our most important products!
What has been the biggest change in the industry during your tenure here?
Consolidation. There has been a lot of buyouts and mergers recently.
What would be the title of your autobiography?
Life on the Road.
What is something random most people don’t know about you?
I spend a majority of my free time judging livestock shows. It is something I grew up around and I now enjoy being on the other side giving back to youth in agriculture.
