We strongly believe one of the most important ingredients in our recipe for success is our employees. Tom is responsible for selling equipment, working with customers for repairs, and facilitating/organizing bin installation crews. Before joining the Grain Handling & Storage Division, Tom started out in the feed department, working in billing, the warehouse and as an on-the-road salesman; altogether he’s been with us for 14 years!
What is your background?
I grew up on a farm in Riverside. On top of row crops, we also had a farrow to finish operation.
What do you enjoy doing in your spare time?
I love working on the farm, bicycling, spending time with my kids and friends and watching NASCAR.
What do you consider to be the most rewarding part of your job?
I think the most rewarding part of my job is making our customers happy by helping them find products that benefit their operation.
What is something random most people don’t know about you?
I can honestly say I have a hole in my head (a result of a surgery).
What has been the biggest change in the industry during your tenure here?
I think the biggest change has been the financial side of farming. There has been a major transition from small farms to large operations that function more like a business. During my time here, the company has certainly become more diverse as well.
If you had to be a product you work with/sell, what would you be?
I’d be a portable grain dryer; simple in concept yet sophisticated in operation.
What’s your favorite thing about the ag industry?
That’s easily the people. I like how they appreciate the simple things in life and are more down to earth.
