Celebrating Pork Month
We are celebrating National Pork Month this October and are thankful for all aspects of pork production. From producers to manure applicators, and everyone in between, we salute you. We enjoy being your partner in agriculture as you work to produce safe and quality pork products in a sustainable manner.
It’s no surprise Iowa is the number one state for pork production. But what often gets overlooked is the manure that is produced and specifically the value it brings. We recently celebrated manure and the people who apply it in our state fair concrete pig entry. Taking home top honors in the novice division, “In the Field and at the Fair” showcases Bazooka Farmstar manure equipment displayed at the Stutsman Iowa State Fair booth and hard at work in the field. Although designed by several Stutsman employees, Becky Schwarzhoff of River Junction brought the design to life.
The Concrete Statue Contest featured nearly 60 entries. Each pig was decorated creatively to represent each business or organization. Our “In the Field & At the Fair” winning pig is back in Hills and on display at the Stutsman retail center. You’ll find him next to our GEA cow from previous year’s state fair concrete statue contest (also painted by Schwarzhoff). Stop by and check them out in person!
