Built for Versatility: Valmar 56 Series Applicators
As the popularity of cover crops have increased over the years, so has the demand for granular applicators. For the past two years we’ve carried the Valmar equipment line of all sizes. Of which, the 56 series applicators have been a hit with many customers for seeding cover crops, small grains, soybeans, and low rates of granular herbicide and dry fertilizer. From the get-go, we’ve been pleased with the product versatility, application accuracy, and overall durability. Once we got these into customers’ hands, they echoed these sentiments as well.
Size Options
Valmar granular applicators come in two sizes depending on your seeding capacity needs. The 4056 holds 40 cubic foot and the 6056 offers 60 cubic foot capacity. The 4056 is offered with 16 hose outlets with application widths from 16’ to 30’. The 6056 can be optioned with either 24 or 32 hose outlets with application widths from 24’ to 60’.
Product Application Options
The 56 series offers users the ability to broadcast product using deflectors or to apply in-furrow with the use of air diffusers. Airline splitters can be used for the possibility of doubling lines near the product disbursement point.
Mounting Versatility
Valmar offers applicators in three styles: skid mount, three-point hitch, or pull behind chariot to accommodate an operation’s various needs.
The skid mount’s versatility makes it our most popular, as it can be fixed on the three-point hitch mount, chariot cart, or mounted on an implement of your choice. We often say, “your only limitation when mounting a Valmar applicator is your own creativity”. We have seen them mounted on items ranging from self-propelled sprayers to vertical tillage tools and harrows. We expect to see many more mounting methods going forward.
The three-point hitch mount is offered in two sizes: 350 and 600 horsepower. It allows for pass through hydraulics and electrical, while coming with a draw-bar hitch for pulling an implement behind.
The chariot mount’s major feature is the ladder and platform to easily access the hopper.
Mounting Control Options
The 56 series has two metering options; hydraulic and ground driven. Our most popular has been the hydraulic drive through ISOBUS monitors. With a single ISOBUS plug, the granular applicator can tie into John Deere, Case New Holland, AGCO, Ag Leader, Topcon, Trimble or other universal terminals. This gives the applicator the ability to perform automatic section control and as applied maps (with a task control interface). ISOBUS also controls on-the-go rate control as ground speed changes.
Applicators can also be controlled through a ground drive mechanism. Rates can be stepped up or down in 5% increments using a 60-speed gearbox. Manual half-width shutoff is accomplished with an in-cab control box. Regardless of size or metering system, stainless steel manifolds now come standard; which provides extended durability when dealing with fertilizer.
Overall, calibrating the metering system and changing out metering rolls to accommodate the various products you are running is a simple, user-friendly process.
The 56 series Valmar granular applicator is ready for jobs of all shapes and sizes. If you are on the market for a new seeder or fertilizer applicator, make sure you give it a glance.
